Greener Vehicles
Passenger vehicles with GenShock installed benefit from improved fuel economy. This translates to less money at the gas pump for the consumer and a greener
vehicle for the environment. By capturing suspension energy and using it to charge the vehicle's battery (on a hybrid), or reducing alternator load (on a conventional vehicle), GenShock reduces the overall carbon footprint of the car. GenShock serves as a significant value-add differentiator on passenger vehicles.
The GenShock power controller is the centerpiece of the regenerative vehicle. The system is a centralized adjustable power system that has the ability to accept variable power input and control kinematic characteristics of multiple energy harvesting sources ranging from regenerative shocks to brakes.
Increased Range
GenShock harnesses otherwise wasted energy from the vertical motion of the vehicle. This adds supplemental power to charge on board batteries, thus increasing the range of plug-in hybrid (PHEV), battery electric vehicles (BEV), and electric vehicles (EV).
Weight & Cost Savings
GenShock supplemental power allows for reduced alternator size, weight, and cost. In PHEVs and EVs, the battery can be downsized while maintaining range. Semi-active capabilities compensate for vehicle roll, potentially allowing for the elimination of anti-roll bars.
Improved Ride Comfort
Levant Power Corp's technology built into GenShock turns a standard suspension into an intelligent one. By actively changing the amount of damping every 20 milliseconds, GenShock provides smoother travel with improved handling, safety, and comfort. Ride control algorithms decrease stopping distance and improve cornering characteristics. In addition, OE manufacturers can incorporate features such as custom suspension settings and CAN bus integration.
